Installation Guide

Roku Device Setup

Roku's app store restricts general-purpose IPTV apps, so setup works a little differently than other devices.

Very Important

Roku does not allow sideloading apps like Fire TV or Android boxes do. The options below are the two supported ways to watch IPTV on Roku.

Recommended Method

Method 01

Screen Mirroring from Phone or Laptop

The most reliable way to get full IPTV functionality on a Roku-connected TV.

  1. 1

Enable screen mirroring on your Roku

Go to Settings → System → Screen mirroring and set it to Prompt or Always allow.

  2. 2

Install IPTV Smarters Pro on your phone or laptop

Set up the app on an Android, iOS, or Windows device using your subscription credentials (see the Android or Apple guide for details).

  3. 3

    Start mirroring

On Android, use the built-in Cast/Smart View feature. On Windows, use Settings → System → Display → Connect to a wireless display.

  4. 4

    Select your Roku device

Choose your Roku from the list of available devices to begin mirroring.

  5. 5

    Play your content

Open IPTV Smarters Pro on your phone or laptop — the screen (and audio) will display on your TV through Roku.

Method 02

Compatible Roku Channel (If Available)

A small number of IPTV-friendly players are available directly in the Roku Channel Store and support M3U playlists.

  1. 1

    Open the Roku Channel Store

From the Roku home screen, go to Streaming Channels → Search Channels.

  2. 2

    Search for an M3U-compatible player

Search for a channel that supports custom M3U playlists (availability changes over time — contact support for our current recommendation).

  3. 3

    Add the channel

Install it like any other Roku channel.

  4. 4

    Enter your M3U playlist URL

Open the channel and paste the M3U URL provided with your subscription when prompted.

Troubleshooting & Tips

Why Roku Is Different

Roku's closed app ecosystem doesn't allow the same sideloading process used on Fire TV or Android boxes, which is why screen mirroring is the most dependable option.

Consider an Additional Device

For the smoothest full-time IPTV experience on a Roku-connected TV, many customers plug in a Fire TV Stick or Android TV box alongside their Roku rather than relying on mirroring.

Common Questions

Can I install IPTV Smarters Pro directly on Roku?

No — Roku's Channel Store doesn't allow general-purpose IPTV apps like Smarters Pro, and Roku doesn't support sideloading APKs the way Android devices do.

Does screen mirroring affect video quality?

Mirroring can introduce a small amount of lag or lower resolution compared to a native app, especially over Wi-Fi. A strong 5GHz connection minimizes this.

Is there a dedicated IPTV channel for Roku?

Available third-party channels change over time due to Roku's store policies — contact our support team for the most current recommendation.

What's the best long-term solution for Roku users?

Many customers pair their Roku TV with a low-cost Fire TV Stick or Android TV box, which gives full native app support without relying on mirroring.
